Pathology Consultants, PC (PathPC) is a professional corporation owned by five pathologists. For over 30 years Path PC has provided a full-spectrum of pathology services to support the rural healthcare system. Path PC offers the following services :

Path PC's pathologists are diplomats of the American Board of Pathology with primary board-certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. The group has pathologists with subspecialty certification in Cytopathology and Hematopathology.

Ward Fredrickson, MD Medical Director
Dr. Ward Fredrickson is a pathologist affiliated with Pathology Consultants PC in Bismarck, ND. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Iowa. His residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Surgical Pathology Fellowship, were completed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Fredrickson is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Fredrickson has over 20 years of experience as a consultant and director in the clinical laboratory. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, College of American Pathologists, and American College of Physician Executives.

 

   
Mike Laszewski, MD Pathologist
Dr. Laszewski is a pathologist affiliated with Pathology Consultants, PC. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Iowa. His residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Surgical and Hematopathology Fellowships were completed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Laszewski is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and has specialty certification in Hematopathology and Cytopathology. Dr. Laszewski serves as the Clinical Consultant for NPL’s Hematology Department and the Laboratory Director for Anatomic Pathology (Surgical Pathology and Autopsy). Dr. Laszewski has more than 15 years of experience performing the professional pathology services of autopsy, surgical pathology and cytology, as well as the functions of consulting pathologist, laboratory director and technical supervisor for clients throughout North and South Dakota. Dr. Laszewski is licensed to practice medicine in Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota and is a member of American Medical Association, North Dakota Medical Society, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, College of American, American Medical Student Association, and American Society of Cytopathology.

 

   
John Hipp, MD Pathologist
Dr. Hipp is a pathologist affiliated with Pathology Consultants, PC. He received his MD, CM degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine, Montreal, his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of North Dakota and St Mary’s Hospital, Duluth, MN. Dr. Hipp is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He has a special interest in immunohematology, serving as Technical Supervisor of the Blood Bank for NPL and as Medical Director of United Blood Services in Bismarck. He has more than 25 years experience performing professional pathology services including autopsy pathology, surgical pathology and cytopathology and has served as consulting pathologist, laboratory director and technical supervisor of blood bank for numerous clients throughout North and South Dakota. Dr. Hipp is licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota, and is a member of the American Medical Association, North Dakota Medical Society, Sixth District Medical Society, American Association of Blood Banks, American Society of Clinical Pathologists and College of American Pathologists.

 

   
Laurie Linz, MD Pathologist
Dr. Linz is a pathologist affiliated with Pathology Consultants, PC. She received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Linz completed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of North Dakota. Her fellowship training in Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology were completed at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Linz is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and has specialty certification in Cytopathology. Dr. Linz is the Laboratory Director of the Cytopathology laboratory, Laboratory Director for the North Dakota Department of Health Division of Microbiology, as well as the Clinical Consultant for NPL’s Clinical Chemistry Department She has more than 10 years of experience performing the professional pathology services of autopsy, surgical pathology and cytology. In addition, Dr. Linz performs the functions of consulting pathologist, laboratory director and technical consultant for numerous clients in North and South Dakota. Dr. Linz is licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and South Dakota and is a member of American Society of Clinical Pathologists, College of American Pathologist and American Association of Clinical Chemists.

 

   
Wesley Ellison, MD Pathologist
Dr. Ellison is a pathologist affiliated with Pathology Consultants, PC. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Utah. He completed his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and fellowship in Surgical Pathology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Ellison serves as Clinical Consultant for NPL’s Microbiology Department. He has more than 6 years of experience performing the professional pathology services of autopsy, surgical pathology and cytology. Dr. Ellison performs the functions of consulting pathologist, laboratory director and technical consultant for numerous clients in North and South Dakota. He is licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and South Dakota and is a member of American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and College of American Pathologist.


 

   
Jared Schmidt, MD Pathologist
Dr. Schmidt is a pathologist affiliated with Pathology Consultants, PC. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Schmidt completed his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Minnesota. His fellowship training in Surgical Pathology was completed at the Mayo Clinic. He is licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota and is a member of the American Medical Association, College of American Pathologists, and American Society of Clinical Pathology.


 

   
Nancy L., CT(ASCP) Cytology Supervisor
Nancy has an Associate of Arts degree in science from the University of North Dakota. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in management from the University of Mary and is board certified in cytology. Nancy is certified in the evaluation of Thin Prep PAP testing technology and the accompanying imaging equipment. She has 30 years of experience in cytology.
